Tracy's Training
I am a beginner and decided to do the Disneyland 1/2 Marathon! I've never done one before, any marathon of any kind, so need a lot of motivation to keep going!
I wanted a good reason to also get in shape and have a goal to keep me going. I wanted track my progress here!![]() Walk/Jog Sessions: 12/30/2010: 35 minutes / 2 Miles 1/3/2011: 41.46 minutes / 2.37 Miles 1/5/2011: 46:36 minutes / 2.63 miles 1/8/2011: 53:01 minutes / 3.01 miles (back sore) 1/10/2011: 53:00 minutes / 3.03 miles 1/12/2011: 52:27 minutes / 3.12 miles 1/15/2011: 52:42 minutes / 3.05 miles (felt more tired with this walk) 1/19/2011: 52:55 minutes / 3.28 miles 1/21/2011: 54:00 minutes / 3.17 miles (need to condition my feet more, they get a bit sore) 1/23/2011: 58:20 minutes / 3.52 miles (YAY! Hit 3 miles at 49 min, gained 4 minutes there!) 1/25/2011: 36:40 minutes / 2.15 miles (2 miles in 33:30 minutes, then cool down walk. Dr. Physical today! 163) 1/27/2011: 58:03 minutes / 3.5 miles (3 miles at 49:23 minutes) 1/29/2011: 60:00 minutes/ 3.64 miles (back and legs feeling better, no soreness) 1/31/2011: 16:00 minutes / 1.00 mile exact! (just did a quick run/walk and hit 16 m/m exact! I'm worn out though, lol) January Total Miles: 37.47! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 2/2/11: 60:22 minutes / 3.61 miles 2/4/11: 2.3 miles / 45ish minutes (Approx. tested Pedo) 2/6/11: Still trying to track with pedometer, did about 3.5 miles outside for the first time! Too much stop and go to track a time. 2/8/11: 64:42 minutes / 4 miles! (1min at 16:10, 2 min at 30:30, 3m at 47:48 min) 2/12/11: 51:52 minutes / 3 miles 2/13/11: All day at the zoo, walked maybe 2 miles 2/16/11: 52:12 minutes / 3.14 miles 2/18/11: 32:00 minutes / 2 miles! (35 minutes...2.15 miles total) 2/22/11: 67:00 minutes / 4 miles! 2/26/11: 40:00 minutes / 2.5 miles (First actual walk around the blocks outside! Avg. 14:77 min/mile) February Total Miles: 30! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 3/2/11: 2.40 Miles / 42 minutes 3/4/11: 3.87 Miles / 66 minutes 3/8/11: 5.00 Miles! / 82:45 minutes (OH YEAH!!!) 3/12/11: 3.02 Miles / 51:27 minutes (.72 outside) 3/16/11: 2.00 Miles / 34:16 minutes 3/20/11: 5.00 Miles / 84 minutes 3/28/11: 3.00 Miles/ 49 minutes March Total Miles: 24.29 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 4/1/11: 3.00 Miles / 47 minutes (all outside) 4/3/11: 4.27 Miles / 60 minutes (outside) 4/7/11: 1.2 Miles 4/10/11: 2.33 Miles / 33 minutes (outside) 4/17/11: Vacation - Legoland! 4/25/11: 2 Miles / 33 minutes (treadmill) 4/27/11: 2 Miles / 32 minutes (outside) 4/29/11: 5 miles! / 83 minutes (treadmill) April Total Miles: 17.47 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 5/1/11: 3 miles /48 minutes (outside) 5/3/11: 1.16 miles - quick treadmill run 5/5/11: 1.39 miles - outside (leg muscles sore) 5/11/11: 3.30 miles / 52 minutes 5/13/11: 2.21 miles / 32 minutes 5/14/11: .61 miles - around the block with the girls. 5/15/11: 2 miles / 28 minutes 5/18/11: 5 miles / 87 minutes 5/20/11: 3 miles / 46 minutes 5/26/11: 1.6 miles / finally figured out how to run without hurting my shins! was running with the front of my foot, not my heel. 5/29/11: 1.51 miles May Total Miles: 24.78 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 6/2: 3.56 miles 6/5: 3 miles 6/6: 3 miles 6/12-6/17: Vacation! 6/19: 2.5 miles / swam for 45 minutes 6/22: 5.1 miles 6/30: 6.1 miles / 90 minutes 7/8: 4.1 miles 7/10: 5.17 miles 7/15-17: Camping...hiked a lot! 7/21: 4.2 miles / 66 minutes 7/23: 3.09 miles / 49 minutes 7/27: 5.1 miles / 1hr 25 min 7/29: 4 miles 7/31: 4.05 miles / 64 minutes 8/3: 4.34 miles / 1hr 22min (shins sore, had to go slower) 8/7: 3.88 miles 8/9: 6.64 miles / 1hr 50min! 8/12: 3.12 miles / 51 min. 8/15: 6.62 miles / 1 hr. 52 min. 8/17: 4.04 miles / 1 hr 8/19: 7.37 miles / 2 hrs. 8/23: 7.19 miles / 1 hr. 58 min. 8/25: 3.65 miles / 1 hr. 8/27: 8.43 miles / 2 hrs 14 min 8/29: 3.51 miles / 56 min. I tried out spinning today.....Boy! That was hard work! I'll try to stick with it as part of my get fit & traning for DL 1/2 .

GREAT Cathy! I don't belong to a gym, so just have my treadmill at home that I use. I will then try getting outside and running around the block. I also have Wii fit and will do that as well!

I think you gals are doing great. I haven't started my training yet. I have to renew my gym membership and get back into using the wii fit. I think that should help some.
What I have been doing is walking about 1-2 miles to and from the park near my house, plus chasing the kids around is great exercise. I have been eating better too :) I can't wait to see how you guys progress! Keep up the great work. Berni |

I need to keep maintaining 3 miles at a time, I need to strengthen my feet! I notice they get sore with the 3 miles. Maybe slow down and go further, I'm not sure.
