Disney Vacation Check List

Sleeping Beauty Castle

Preparing for your Disney vacation can be stressful and your mind filled with thoughts of  ”what did I forget!”.  Here are some helpful hints when preparing for your trip!

1) Reserve and Book Early! A Disney vacation is quite popular and many Hotels and Restaurants book up fast!  As soon as you can make reservations and book your vacation, do it!   If flying, make sure to make flight reservations and if you need a rental car, make rental car reservations.  For Disney dining, you can make dining reservations for Disneyland up to 60 days in advance and dining reservations for Walt Disney World up to 180 days in advance. (WDW dining can now be booked online!).

2) Tickets: Order your Disney Park Tickets!  Tickets can be mailed to you directly or you can have them  held and picked up at the park when you arrive.

3) Paperwork: Print all required paperwork and ticket information.  Hotel reservations, Flight information and Rental car info too.  Keep all together in an envelope and in a safe place.

4) Weather: Check the weather forecast and bring clothing appropriate for the weather conditions.  Disney Parks do sell poncho’s for rainy days.  Lockers are also available to store clothing items and change during the day as needed.  Umbrella’s can be hard to manage around the parks, so bringing jackets with hoods or hats is recommended.

5)Bags: When visiting the parks, bring a small bag to carry with you, full of items you will need inside the parks.  Items include your Cell phone, ID, Park Tickets, park map, camera (film and batteries), tissue, sunscreen, sunglasses, small snacks, water bottle, band aids, Baby supplies, ziploc bags to keep things dry, etc.

6)Clothing: If you plan on staying at the parks all day, bringing extra clothing is a great idea!  Lockers are great for storing warmer clothes to change into at night.  Plan on getting wet with water rides and water fun, bring dry clothes to change into so you aren’t walking around wet all day, especially for kids.  Also, comfy shoes are a MUST!

7)Disney Extras: For inside the parks, make sure to have handy Character Autograph Books and Pen (Larger markers are easier for characters to hold onto), Lanyards, Pins (for pin trading!), Park maps, Refillable park mugs, Photopass card for taking tons of pictures!

Additional notes before you go:
~USE the Park Maps and plan your day, checking on parade and show times and prepare to find your viewing spot early.
~Make a note of the height of everyone in your party, especially kids, so you know what rides they can go on.
~If anyone is prone to motion sickness, stock up on the appropriate remedies, like Dramamine.
